Nob Hill — Date Night

date night in nob hill, sorted

you asked, we're delivering. no decisions to make, no scrolling through reviews, no "where do you want to go" back and forth for 45 minutes. just grab your person and walk Central. we mapped the whole thing out.

start the evening at Frenchish. this is the move. a French restaurant in the middle of burque that somehow feels exactly right here. the kind of place where the menu is tight, the wine list is smart, and you don't have to pretend to know what you're ordering because the staff actually wants to help you find something great. sit across from your date, let the room do its thing. it's not stuffy, it's not trying too hard. it's just a really, really good dinner. open Wednesday through Saturday, 4:30 to 8:30pm.

after dinner, walk to Lure Raw Bar. the zinc-topped bar in there is small, and that's the whole point. slide into a seat and watch them shuck oysters right in front of you. fresh ones flown in daily. the space feels more like a San Francisco seafood counter than anything you'd expect next to the Sandías, and that contrast is part of what makes it so fun. split a dozen, keep the conversation going. there's something about eating oysters with someone that just feels like a date, you know?

now. dessert. and we're not talking about splitting a crème brûlée at the same restaurant. walk over to Chocolate Dude and get the Fondue for Two. picture this: warm chocolate, fruit for dipping, the whole setup right between you. add on the coffee flight if you want to keep the night going a little longer (you do). open Tuesday through Sunday, 11am to 9pm. book online to reserve your fondue because this one fills up.

from there, end the night at Daydream Rum Bar. tucked inside the Little Bear Coffee Co. Nob Hill cafe, this bar is so easy to miss if you don't know about it. low lighting, tropical cocktails, the whole room smells like coconut and lime before you even sit down. order a mai tai. order two. this is a James Beard semifinalist spot and it still flies under the radar somehow. open Tuesday through Thursday 5 to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 5 to 11pm.

if you're feeling it after the mai tais, Zema Vinyl Lounge at Hotel Zazz is a short walk back east on Central. vinyl spinning, warm neon, craft cocktails. Femme Fatale Fridays are a whole thing if you're going on a Friday, everyone shows up looking good and the energy is right. open til 1am on weekends.

that's five spots, all walkable, all in Nob Hill. no Uber needed. just you, your person, and one of the best stretches of street in the duke city.
